The Buck Creek runs along way and winds through beautiful forested 
areas in and outside of Houston, British Columbia.

This where Bob Creek runs into Buck Creek. Years ago placer gold 
was found in the area and a number of miners mined the creek for gold.

King Of All Rocks Houston British Columbia (Pictures)

Above Photo: On July 6, 2016 in these pictures are my daughter, 
son-in-law and grandson. My grandson was trying to scale the 
King of all rocks at Houston, British Columbia. 

What I like about these pictures is that I brought my daughter to
this rock when she was little, now she returns to the rock with her son and husband.

For me, great memories I will hold dearly.

Hike Owen Hat Houston British Columbia (Pictures)

 just outside Houston, British Columbia.

Owen Hat is an area which has 1.9 kilometers of trail which goes to the top of Owen Hat. 
It is an ancient volcanic feature. There is rock climbing in the area.

You can walk through this cave and come out on the other side at Owen Hat.

Directions/Map: 
Drive west of Houston and turn left off Highway 16 onto the Morice River Road. 
At kilometer 27 go straight onto the Morice-Owen FSR. 

Just before 51 kilometer, turn left onto the Owen. Go to approximately 
8.5 kilometers on Owen North Road. The recreation site is on the right.

On July 9, 2016 I wandered over to our Steelhead Park to see if there were any
other new flowers that had blossomed, and here were a number of
beautiful flowers that I stopped and filmed.

If you would like to check out our Steelhead Park, you can’t miss it as it
runs right along side Highway 16 through the district of Houston, B.C.

Besides the flowers, there is Canada’s largest fly rod and reel and make sure you take 
a stroll through the park and sit beside the Steelhead Park fountain.

Also on display in a glass case is a 975 pound grizzly bear that was responsible for 
killing numerous cattle around Houston.

China Nose Wildfire Devastation To Regrowth Houston British Columbia (Pictures)

Above Photo: On July 9, 2016 I took some photos of the past 
China Nose mountain wildfire outside Houston, British Columbia. 

On Monday, August 11, 2014 a wildfire was reported and it’s location was 
approximately 15km southeast of Houston, British Columbia. 

The China Nose wildfire consumed an estimated 3,450 hectares and the
 cause of the fire was due to a lightning strike. 

A fire camp has been set up approximately 6 km east of Houston, B.C. just off of highway 16.
