Houston British Columbia Surrounded By Lush Green Forest (Pictures)

A friend and I drove to the Houston Estates, which is in Houston, B.C.

There is a spot where you can look over the lush green forest surrounding Houston. I took a few pictures and I share them here below.

Below Picture: In the photo, middle right is Highway 16, this runs right through Houston. Also you will notice another bridge, this in the middle of the photo and runs over Highway 16.

The bridge was built years ago and allows logging trucks with their load to stay off the Highway, and this road runs into the mill.

Below Picture: You will notice the older style of bridge, this is the CN rail line. In the back ground you will see a large sawmill, this is owned by Canfor.

We also lost another large sawmill, Houston Forest Products (West Fraser), it closed down operations in May 2014. A sad day for many.

Picture Below: In the photo, you can see a train, this would be chip cars that carry chips out of the mill and used for the making of pulp/paper.

Also you can see up the Morice Valley and the road follows along side the Morice River for many miles.

There are many lakes running through the entire area, but one of the gems is the Morice Lake Provincial Park.

The scenery is outstanding, and it will take your breath away.

I have some pictures, but I have not been able to find them. I am sure many of you living in Houston would have some photos of that area, I would appreciate if you could share a few of them for the Houston Blog.

Keep in mind, your copyright information will be added.

But for now, please do check out the Morice Lake Provincial Park: website. http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/moriceLake/
