Silverthorne Lake In The Houston Community Forest Houston British Columbia (Picture)

Silverthorne Lake (Erickson) is only minutes from town off the Buck Flats Road. Buck Flats road is located approximately 3 kilometers west of the town of Houston, turning left off Highway 16.

Continue driving on Buck Flats Road for approximately 8 kilometers keeping an eye open for a right hand turn which will take you into Silverthorne Lake. Actually there are some buildings right at the turn.

Silverthorne Lake can be an excellent fishing lake at times, and rainbow trout can go up to the 8 pound range. Please keep in mind that there is no fishing within 50 m of the sign at outlet of lake.

It is an awesome place to take the family to. You can go fishing, hiking and even go horseback riding, also it is a nice place for canoeing and don’t forget a picnic lunch. In winter time, many use the trails for cross country skiing.

Hope to see you out there.

Picture Below: Just chilling at the lake with a close friend who came up from Surrey, British Columbia for a visit.
